I'm trying to work on a jeans skirt and I've got no real idea how to make a good looking fly or good pockets. I've got some nice examples and I'm playing around with some ideas but I am still pretty new to this.
Anyone have some quick tips how to do these pieces?

Hi Griffin :)

I'm not the best person to answer this for you, but I didn't want you to feel like you've been ignored.

You mentioned that you have some templates already, but just in case...you could check here http://secondlife.com/downloads/textures.php#01

And get a close look at how the pockets are done on the jeans and sort out a way to do them onto a skirt.

Also here http://secondlife.com/downloads/templates.php

You've probably already figured this out - but in the lower body template, there are lots of layers that show different clothing examples including a very detailed pair of jeans.

Again I've never been able to figure this out for making jeans other than painting on and tinting the ones from these templates.

Can someone who know what the heck they're doing please help? LOL Anyhow Griffin I hop thats been some sort of help for you in the meantime :)

A good place to start is with Chip Midnight's excellent templates which can be found in this thread.

Once you have those I would Google around the internet (using their image search or Froogle search) and find some photos of jeans skirts. Preferebly front and back, laying flat and not on a model.

Copy these images into your image editor to use for fabric texture, seams, and pockets. If you are using Photoshop the clone (rubber stamp) tool is particularly useful.

Feel free to IM me in world if you have any questions or just to see my jeans skirt example.
