Hi..I am sorry if this has already been discussed. I am making shirts with photoshop, and think I have figured out alpha channels...but when i upload my shirt texture into sl, and place it on a newly created shirt in appearance, you can still see the white part of the new shirt that appears under my created shirt... and if I lower the collar on the slider, it removes my nice created collar...does that make sense? This is driving me crazy, and any advise is appreciated. Thank you!

What version of Photoshop are you using?
What procedure are you following that you think should be working?
Have you read the tutorial on alpha channels and followed the procedures described in the threads and followed the links to tutorials elsewhere on the web and followed those?

Try doing what many other new designers do ... Go to Robin Woods' web site and download her T-shirt template. Make a couple of T-shirts with it to get a feel for how it works, study what its alpha channl looks like, and then try to make one of your own that looks like it. Oh, and while you are at her web site, take time to go VERY carefully through her tutorial on what alpha channels are. It has to be one of the best available.

All of this and more is at http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/SL-Tuts/SLTutSet.html . :D

No need to feel embarrassed. There's a lot to learn. This isn't exactly rocket science, but if it were easy, everyone would be doing it. When you have questions, come back and search this forum's archives first to see whether other people have asked already. Most likely, they have. Every time someone asks the same question, though, there's a slightly different nuance to the answers, so don't hesitate to ask again if you don't find an archived response that makes sense to you. Besides, we all learn when we see a good dialogue, even if we have seen the questions before. ;)
