Select Texture Broken?

The oddest texture problem. I have full edit rights in the group. I select the object to edit one side...rt click, edit..select texture (cuz i only want 1 side red), and then...

It won't let me do just the 1 side! What is up with that?

Yes - the prim is a friends who gave me permissions, i do have nvidia, this problem started a few updates ago. I have reinstalled SL. Nothing is helping. This is a group project and my hands seem tied.


Is there a work-a-round?

Do you have the "Select only my objects" item checked in the Tools menu? I've found that if that is checked, editing an item that belongs to someone else, even when you have mod rights, gives you a false sense that you should be able to edit it, but it fails just as you are describing.

Hi - ok..I have a simple stupid question..I'm adding tile to my bathroom floor, but the outside is tiled, too. How do you just apply texture to one side??

There is a radio button marked "Select Texture" in the editing tools. Click that button so it is selected, (this selects all the faces of that prim or linkset). Then click on the first face you want to texture, and shift-click to select additional faces of the prim(s). Or shift-click to de-select already selected faces. Only those faces will get the texture changes you then specify.

To texture just one face, you can also drag a texture from your inventory to the face that you want to change, and only that one face should change.
