ok, i have made several clothing items n the past and somewhere now I am brain farting... my clothes are showing the white backgrounds of the "appearance" templates in appearance mode. I'll post a pic... am i supposed to click the alpha channel so it shows in PS or leave it unchecked? Does that make sense? Sorry I didn't realize I was logged in under Vance's name! Please respond to my new post under my own name...aresko Salome.

You don't have to click the Alpha Channel in PS, in other words, it doesn't matter in the least whether you can see the red mask or not. If you have one (and only one) it will automatically be used in the 32 bit .tga file.

If you have more than one, though, or if you don't have one at all, you will have white where you expected transparency.

maybe because i saved it as 28 bit instead of 32 bit? Back to the drawing board!

Yep, that would do it too. As Chosen pointed out earlier, each channel in these images has 8 bits. That means that Red, Green, and Blue make a 24 bit image (3 X 8). If you want to have the Alpha, you need the extra 8 bits, or a 32 bit image. (4 X 8).
