Get a jpeg as a texture?

Hey there, I was wondering if it was possible to get a .jpeg or other image (like one created with MS Paint) and use it as a texture. I wanna make a sign for my college project but I dont know how to get a texture with my own words in it.

Yes, you can upload JPG, TGA, PNG, or even BMP images. For something like a simple sign that just has text on it, a JPG will be fine, although I wouldn't usually recommend JPG for much else. Read the sticky on file sizes and formats at the top of this forum VERY carefully so you don't waste your time making something that will look really unsatisfying when you get it in world.
