Skirt Help: Trouble w/trim

I've made a black skirt with white trim around the hips, but the trim comes out with sharp angles on the sides (hip bone area). Is there a work around or is this something I'll have to live with if I want my trim there? :(

Another quick question if anyone is willing to give out any secrets: the white trim across the top seam comes out either sharp and pixelated, or if I use the blur tool to smooth the edges it comes out uneven and blotchy in SL (using PS CS2).

I've reached my limit on the terrible trims and I may just go black on black! Any help is appreciated! :)

i think a mask will work on the trim across the top seam
as for the sharp corners on skirt you will have to experiment
try to find the exact spot with a grid like texture then put that in a layer under your
skirt layer and try smal circle at the corner

Thanks for your response Lightwave. I'll give the mask another go for the upper trim if you really think it will work.

I'm not sure what you mean about the trim on the hips. That's where I would like it....any lower/higher and I think it would look silly....but I'll play with it a bit..maybe an inch in either direction would help!

I'll attack it right after I finish my coffee......

The angles are from your straight texture being wrapped around a "round" surface that is actually a fairly coarsely polygon-ed surface. There are also a few artifacts of trying to wrap a 2d image on a 3d surface.

To compensate you can try raising/lowering your lines at the points, but then you get a zagged edge, as where there are points there are stretched pixels, so even small changes are highly visible. So, you'll have to mask/blend there, too.

If you wear the template you'll see that lines that look straight on the texture have angles when wrapped around the av.
