Poser 4/poser artist question

Does anyone know if it would be wise to purchase poser 4 which is now considered poser artist for the purpose of learning to create animation....I am fairly new to the world of graphic arts but I have been bit by the creative bug after finding this new medium of expression....though much like when I started painting and purchased the cheapest acrylic paints to practice with, I would like to purchase the cheapest software to mess with in case I hate it and choose not to use it....it's a difference of 100 dollars....So does anyone know if this is a viable option or should I just wait and see if something else comes along for me to tinker with?

Thank you all in advance!

Well good news is that poser 4 can make animations too :)

I think you need an upgrade for it, not sure if it's free. Worth looking into though ;)
