Hello, I recently had the idea to start making clothing for use in SL, since I'm really familiar with Photoshop. Currently I know of two sets of template, one in the sticky thread in this forum by Chip Midnight, the other by Robin Sojourner. I didn't really look into creation until now, so which set of templates do most designers use, or a combination of both? What are their differences? I'm looking at mid-level content creation, combining clothing layers with non-sculpt prims (since I lack a usable sculpty creator); and is Photoshop CS2 alone enough for creation? Thanks.

CS2 works fine. It doesn't have the 3D functionality of CS3 and CS4, but you can live without that and make very nice clothing. The two sets of templates are both good. Some people prefer one, some the other. It's a personal matter, and sometimes a matter of how well one of them shows up in Photoshop when you are using a dark or light fabric.

I use both of those wonderful templates you mentioned -- combined -- because they both have features I like, so combining them worked for me.

I layer my UV templates with a skin template so I can see how it will actually lay in conjunction to shading on the body. Skin on the bottom at 100%, and the uv at 10% over top of it.
