Clothing icons look like weird shirts? why?

All of a sudden now when I make any clothing, whether it be underwear, pants, jackets, anything....everything has the icon beside it that looks like a shirt...but not the regular shirt icon. They don't have the pants icon or underwear icon..etc.

I am attaching a screenshot.
Why is it doing this all of a sudden and how do I fix it?

Its not just you!! Same thing happened to me.
I've no idea how to fix it or why it happens but just wanted to say "you are not alone" :D

You all may want to go vote on Rem Beattie's bug about it, it has zero votes.

https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5828

The "Vote for it" button is on the bottom of the left-hand menu. Use your regular SL login.

Malificent, your excellent picture should be attached to the bug as well. Use the "Manage attachments" link to attach "screenshot".

This is a User Interface issue, not a 'Texture' issue. It could very well be a bug whereas I've seen worse come up with clothing icons. The Fix? You could always edit the UI (icons) yourself. I believe they should still be retrievable with UUID keys to customize them to whatever you want your icons to appear as. I personally haven't gone into the UI files as of late to look, but I have tutorial on my blog <I got tired of the default folders and made mine appear as body parts instead> (see link in my sig) on how to customize your UI.

Again the tutorial may not even be relevant to this current version either but thought I'd pass that along.

Thank you very much for leading me to that thread. I have voted and I have posted my pic thee. Hopefully it gets fixed, as it is kind of irritating.

I found a way to make them pants instead of shirts!

If you have made pants before that still show up as pants and not shirts, make a copy of them in your inventory and wear them. Go under appearances and change the fabric of the pants to the new fabric you would like to have on the pants. Save them to a new name. They will show up as pants and not shirts..hope this helps...However, this is very annoying and needs to be fixed.

Save as outfit...

About 4 years ago, when I asked a Linden about this problem, she told me to put on the items, then save them as an outfit. That fixes the icons in the new outfit's folder. I have to admit that I found it such an annoying process that there are still some clothing folders that have all shirts in them--after my first success, I never bothered again, since the designers had anticipated the problem with icons and had named them "shirt" "pants" etc.
