i'm trying to make a sofa with both pillows and sofa cushions. i would like to add some wrinkles to both the pillows and the cushions so they don't appear to be just flat images. Any suggestions? i would also like to add some gathers to the bottom of the cushions. my image editor is Paint Shop Pro. i don't seem to be able to do either of these things with PSP. is there a plug-in that would work? any and all help would be great appreciated.

Folds and wrinkles

Making convincing folds and wrinkles is a nice challenge, Jinne. It takes practice and a good eye to do it consistently.
Rather than repeat what more experienced (and articulate) designers have already written, I suggest that you do a search of this forum by typing in the word "folds." You'll come up with a HUGE number of entries, because this is a popular topic. Take a particular look at Robin Wood's sticky on "Photoshop Tricks & Tips." Then spend a lot of time in RL looking at the way real fabric drapes and folds, or wrinkles. See where shadows deepen and where highlights hit, and what happens to the appearance of the fabric texture in both places. There's really no single "best" way to duplicate what you see, but you can't hope to make any technique work until you have an artist's eye for what real folds and wrinkles look like.
