Greetings all you wonderful creators,
I'm a newbie to SL, and also at trying to create some clothing. I'm trying basic stuff, and I must put out thanks to all the wonderful tutorial creators, and the people who have taken the time to make the templates. Thank you very much.
Now to my problem. I've made up a shirt and followed the instructions to the T, and even had it looking great in the viewer that another member made up. Problem is, when I uploaded it to SL, there is some serious color bleeding on the seams. I've tried to find the answer, and unfortunately can't find it anywhere. I'm hoping that someone can help, and can assist me in figuring out how I did it. Assuming I did things right, the picture at the bottom is the one I took of the best show of the bleeding, and should show exactly what I'm talking about.
Information that may be required, is that the shirt was made in Photoshop CS2, and it was made using an amalgamation of Chip Midnights and Robin Woods clothing templates. Thank you in advance for any and all help that can be sent my way.
Regards, Aesy Blackadder

It looks like you didn't bring your color out through the bleed margin, so you problem is actually not enough bleed. Bleed being a printers term for a margin of error in case the edge of the paper is not where you expect.
Looking at the template, you will see the outline of the shirt and then about an eighth of an inch of bleed margin outside of the outline, usually displaying in a lighter color. You need to extend your shirt color out this far to be sure the color will be smooth across the seams.

Ahhh, well there is the rub. I did go out beyond the lines on the template, and it's still showing up like that. Is it possible that I need to adjust my alpha layer, to take in more of the bleed area to fix that up?? hmm.. might have just answered my own question there.. thank you for the quick response Sylvia, I appreciate it

Glad you figured it out.
You only need areas of transparency for the collar opening, the sleeve cuffs and possibly the bottom hem, if you want any of the belly to show. There is no need to follow the entire outline with transparency.
