Hi - its the background I need, possibly a mirror, with rows of bottles & optics & wine glasses - or - rack of wine bottles...

Freebies always welcome but expecting someone with a texture shop to help me here - looked at a few places but no luck so far... will keep googling in the meantime.

Thanks people :)

Scroll down a little further on the forums main page. See where it says Products Wanted? That's where you should post this.

Huh?

So... I'm not supposed to ask about textures in the textures forum??? Hmmmm I have seen several people who supply textures in this forum - seemed a reasonable way of reaching them... thanks for the advice though :)

If you've got a question on how to make a texture, by all means ask away. If you're looking for a product made by someone else, whether it be a texture or anything else, that's what Products Wanted is for. That's why the description of this forum says "discuss techniques", and the other one says "Looking for a certain object, script, etc? Post your request here."

Let's agree to differ

While I accept your point - I chose to post my request in a forum that is frequented mostly by people who have an interest or expertise in textures rather than a forum that covers a wide range of interests, the resulting help I have recieved in world (a suggestion how to create/acquire such a texture) supports this choice - I stand by my decision and suggest we just agree to differ on this rather trivial matter.

As described in the list of forums:
From: someone
Design and Textures
Discuss techniques, ask questions about using Second Life clothing templates and texturing tools

From: someone
Products Wanted
Looking for a certain object, script, etc? Post your request here.

Posting in the wrong forum may seem trivial to you. It's a pain in the neck for a lot of people, though. When I browse this forum, I want to improve my skills, and that's it. Everything else is spam, and I have enough of this in my mailbox, ty.

First, as Raindrop said, it's far from trivial. Second, you're completely off the mark in your assumption about who frequents what forum.

I'll address the second part first. This forum is read by two types of people, those looking to learn, and those who enjoy teaching. Those who are looking to provide products for people read the Products Wanted forum. Again, that's what it's there for.

As a texture artist, should I want to find out what textures people are looking for, I can assure you, I wouldn't look here. I'd go over to where the consumers are, not where the students and teachers are. That's the Products Wanted forum, not the Design & Textures forum.

As for your notion that it's trivial, once again, it's not. The forums are divided into categories for a very important reason. If everyone who's looking for a product were to post here, then the people who really need the education that this forum provides would be unable to find the help they need. Likewise, if everyone who wants to learn how to make things were to go posting over in Products Wanted, business would greatly suffer over there, as consumers would be unable to find the items they want, and creators would be unable to determine what the consumers are looking for. By putting the right things in the right categories, everyone wins. Get it?

As a perfect case in point, look what's happened in this thread. Not a soul has replied with anything close to what you were actually looking for. The only responses you've gotten are ones telling you that you'd have much better luck in the proper forum. Had you actually listened to that advice, rather dismissing it and insisting that you're right, you very likely would have gotten the response you were looking for by now. If that's not enough of an incentive to post in the right place, I don't know what is.

Just a wee friendly forum advice Cat:

When someone with more that 3,100 posts under their belt suggests you're in the wrong forum, best not "agree to disagree"

Second, you were being helped not criticized and it's best not to get your panties knotted and all defensive when you're in the wrong and not following forum protocol.
