Is there a way I can design patterns for clothes, namely t-shirts, without Photoshop? I simply do not have the $100 to spare to purchase the program but do have some free/cheap programs I have used for texturing mods, namely Gimp and Maya PLE. I have searched for a tutorial for texturing T's cheaply, but all I have found require Photoshop. If anyone can please refer me to a tut that would work, it would be great.

First of all, if you can find Photoshop legitimately for $100, grab it now. Even if you don't want it, turn around and sell it for $400 or $500. Its regular price is $599.

Anyway, if you've got GIMP, I recommend using the GIMPshop plugin. It will rearrange GIMP's interface to look and behave like Photoshop. You'll find that most tutorials written for Photoshop will work with GIMPshop.
