Ok, I've gotten pretty good at tattoos, and I'd like to make myself a skin. Can someone possibly give me any tips on a few issues? Such as, where to find the textures, lining the skin up properly, et al.
Thanks, Wynter
PS. the only skin templates I've found have been for poser, will those work?

I'll start a list for you. People are not going to post personal reference material, but they will post tips and hints to specific questions and problems you encounter along the way when making a skin. Things that will help you (not neccessarily listed in order of importance): 1. Chip Midnights master templates for alignment 2. Photoshop (if you don't already have this, it is the best) 3. A Wacom tablet (beats drawing with a bar of soap- I mean mouse ) 4. A digital camera for texture sampling 5. My slider to tattoo conversion kit for effects processing in PS 6. Deep Paint 3D, Ghost Paint, Poser, Maya, or any 3D application for previews, effects, touch-ups. 7. Anatomy books for drawing reference 8. Drawing skills (this is the most important, in my opinion)

the main problem I've found is the astounding lack of items for men. I've seen photorealistic skins for women, but men are pretty much left with the cartoony look. So, I'll forego creating my own, and asking for any trade secrets if someone can point me in the proper direction to get a photorealistic skin. Sorry for stepping on any toes.
Thanks, Wynter

Yep, Chip makes some great male skins, I wear one myself. In MY opinion, the key to Chips skins that makes them so real is that he isn't afraid to include "flaws", such as moles, freckles, bodyhair etc. It all helps to eliminate the plastic feel of many skins.

hate to plug BUT HELL Im gonna!!!! I have some skin textures in my store ready made with freckles, moles, scars, stitches, bruises, staples, you name it , I have it. Various skin tones These are NOT ready made skins just 512 X 512 flat 'skin' textures for making your own skins in a paintprogram ovbiously shadows & highlights are 'your' work. Theres a nipple in there too. Two packs one is normal regular skin tones & marks the other is more damaged scars burns etc I always thought the scarred pack would be a good seller for more rugged & gothic AV skins...stitches and such like? anyhooo i know they are aimed at a specialist market and so thats why I replied to this. oh 15 textures per pack for 450L$ full perms as always Situated in the Fabrics dept on the wall with hair, wings, fur & eyes ....AV textures.
