Looking for help with making alpha textures for thatch fringing

Aloha, I am looking to either learn how to make my own thatch textured fringe for some builds I am doing. Unfortunately, I have Paint Shop Pro X and it seems everyone in SL has Photoshop. If that isn't helpful, then, looking to purchase some alpha thatch textures with full permissions for builds only. Can anyone help me? Your "kokua" would be greatly appreciated.
