ok I want to know how to make a tattoo involving the tattoo slots since I don't care to wear skins and no I'm not even remotely a noobie but that shouldn't matter anyways... do I just use a skin template and go from there ? or lower body clothing template? also I've never been clearly told what to do with the surrounding areas on a template where it has the writing of who made the template and all that bull.. that I don't need to see on my avatar. how to erase that.. or do I simple not save that layer?

Technically they're the same thing. The UV Map (Read: Texture Layout) for skins and clothing are the exact same, so whether you're using a skin or clothing template, painting on the stomach will always be on the stomach, if you apply that texture to the torso.

The difference is where people might put guidelines, a skin template might have guides for belly button, makeup, breasts, etc, while a clothing texture would be more likely to have seam locations, collar areas, etc.

Also, there aren't any 'tattoo slots', per say. Just clothing slots, which you can utilize for tattoos if you choose. Undershirt/underpants are optimal, as they're the lowest layer, but you can wear them on any layer you want, really.

Just hide that layer when saving/flattening the image. The template itself is just a guideline, and plays no part in the technical side of the clothing creation. You can completely delete that layer if you like, and no harm would come of it.
