I want to upload some photos to frame ... In the past, I was able to upload photos that were not square (I still have em). Now I can't figure out how to upload a photo that stays rectangular, not square.
Thanks!

Each of the dimensions of the photo must be : 1024 pixels, 512 pixels, 128 pixels, 64 pixels, 32 pixels, etc. If the picture does not fall within these dimensions then SL will resize it for you. Thus, if you upload a 1024x512 picture everything is fine, but if you upload a 1254x890 pixle rectangular picture SL will resize it to 1024x1024 and it will come out looking like a square. You can either resize the picture yourself to fit these dimensions or you can simply stretch the picture out into a rectangle after it has been uploaded.

Amplifying on Jamay's answer, what I do is fill in the actual pixel dimensions of the image in the description field when I upload it. Let's assume the image is 1428 x 740 pixels. Then when I mount it, I create a cube with dimensions...

X = 1.428
Y = .05
Z = .740

Place the image on the prim. It now has the correct aspect ration. From here, you can use the white resize handles to drag the size larger or smaller as needed.
