Textures wont stick... or they wont stop sticking...

It seems that when I try to change the textures on selected or linked objects, they will change momentarily, and revert right back. While this is a pretty display for a while, it is very time consuming to unlink and change each prim.

Am I the only one? If so, am I unique? Should I feel special?

I get this too...

I find though, that after applying the texture (Make sure Apply Immediately is NOT checked), I click the Default texture button (But don't apply) so that I can click the correct texture again and hit Apply once more. After a few rounds of this the texture is how it should be.

It seems to occur mainly on servers with high load. I just have apply immediately selected and keep clicking the same texture till the "multiple textures" no longer displays over in the edit window.

This will happen with any linked abject> It will apply the texture to one prim at a time...
The more prims you have to longer and "more flash and revert" back you will have...

Happens to me in otherwise empty sims too. Seems to either happen a lot or not at all.

This happens to me all the time, usually when texturing a huge set of linked prims.

I dont think its dependent on sims or server load as it occurs in the sandbox when its empty (or full) and anywhere else under almost any conditions.

Although its true if you just wait (for a long long time), and watch all the prims flip back and forth they *mostly* go the right way at the end, they dont *always* do so.

Even on link sets in the 100 prim range, I have waited for literally fifteen minutes or so at times and they still don't right themselves. You generally have to accept whatever result you get, and then manually go around finding the prims with the wrong texture and change them individually.

In a lot of cases with the stuff I build, you simply cant get at all the prims to do them individually without breaking apart the object you are working on, so this definitely needs to be fixed if possible.
