So I'd like to ask where I can read up on U,V and understand what the heck is going on (or NOT!) with my texturing

Due to the limitations of most search engines in and out of SL, I can't find the terms [U,V].
So I'd like to ask where I can read up on U,V and understand what the heck is going on (or NOT!) with my texturing ![]() Thanks! Jacer |

U is Horizontal repeats per face and V is Vertical repeats for face under the Texture Tab in the Object window. Is this what you wanted to know?

Or you can go to my Texture Tutorials, in world, where I explain all about UV mapping in SL.

I second what Robin said. I found those tutorials excellent, went there after the prim tower, and I learned a lot from it. Keep the notecards too, so that you can re-read them later (unless you go back there, of course).

Thank you to both Sylvia and Robin:
Sylvia's link helps with the *Maths* if one needs to break down an irregular shape into U,V (which I do). Robin: Thanks for responding. I knew I had seen your notes in my newbie days, but had no idea where they were. THANK YOU !!! |
