hey all,

ok I'm trying to make some tattoos by basically laying out the tattoos on a 2D template in PS. but I noticed they come out distorted when i test the "freely uploaded" images on my avatar's skin. Since the tattoos are circular it's very noticeable.

What are some ways I can address this problem?

Thanks.

the reason is that the mesh for the avatar is not uniform, it squeeze some areas to gether, and stretches others apart.

if you have access to a program that will project an image onto the sl avatar mesh (like Maya) then you can do that.

you can also try the SL clothing previewer linked above in the stickies, which will at least show you where you need to tweak the most to get the right shape in your texture, without having to login to SL or upload before you are ready.

be aware that different av's have different shapes and that it isn't always going to be perfec on all av's.

thanks.

I've used maya a little bit but it's been awhile.

Is there a step by step guide on how to render out textures in maya into 2d format for use with SL?

thanks
