What's the deal with big-assed skirts?

Why is it i can't make, or even find anywhere for sale, a miniskirt that's tight around the hips? Like professional wear, or something a little trashier... I have a slender AV without a "disproportionally thick" rear end, and every skirt i have found looks like I'm wearing a couple of sandbags on my hips when worn. I realize many models are size 13 and 9ft tall, but that's not an option for me.
Anyone know how to get a true skirt to hug the figure from the pockets up?
or
Anyone know any shops that sell them?
TIA,
Dana

No ghetto butt???

Don't you know that's what's in?

I'm not talking about some giant oversized sloppy hanging butt. But a female with a nice plump firm butt or ghetto butt as they say will get eyes looking at her direction every time. By men who like me, love seeing this or by females who at times seem envious as why attention is going that way.
In fact most females in sl have no butt or hips. They all seem to concentrate on having big breast but nothing else. They don't know how much nicer and sexier they'd looked with some more butt and hips. It's a lot nicer having curves then being flat around that section.

My thoughts!

But it's also true, some gowns, skirts and dresses make female butts look way out of proportion. Way out.

There is an inherant flaw in the SL skirt design that gives all women a fat ass. Or rather, that thinks it should. The only way to get a slender derriere is to set the skirt to zero on the 'bustle' slider, and then alter your avatar shape to have an even more skinny butt than you normally would set it to. Save that form as your 'Skirt shape', and wear it when you wear any dress. *sigh*

We've been requesting a fix for that since before I came to SL, over a year ago. As far as I know, it's been a problem since day one.

One possible workaround would be a pair of 'hot pants' with a matching prim skirt that merges in about mid rump. The pants part makes the waistband and upper skirt. You'd really have a pair of 'skorts', those silly skirts with the built-in shorts that they used to force middle school and high school girls to wear instead to true short skirts, but it should at least get the rough look that you seek.

It's been mentioned here before, the way around the skirt mesh is to have a skirt version of your shape. Make a copy of your shape, and then shrink the hips and butt til the shape looks like you without a skirt on. Then save it as "my shape-skirts" and you'll have it for every skirt mesh skirt there is.

Thanx everyone for the replies :)
I kinda thought it might have been a mesh thing, and this confirms it. So yer saying that by adjusting my AV shape to minimal hip & booty size, that'll fool the skirt mesh into dropping down to where it should be? and I can tweak it from there?
What a pain...
The prim skirt has been a saving grace at this point, but there are times when you just wanna go stretch, ah well...
Lol @ Cole :) Many dont realize the lines of realism have been crossed with this "shape fad". Or is it a fettish?

Just want to say that your term "ghetto" butt is derogatory in case you hadn't thought about it.

Changed to say 'Massive Junk in the Trunk', so as not to offend any ghettos...

Oh damn. I missed when Ghetto was added to the PC list. Someone, please send me a link to an updated list. Thanks.

I think that the huge junk in the trunk look is abnormally unpleasent. Sure, a little padding is desirable but I don't like seeing girls walk around with their sofa cushions stuck to the rears.

There's different levels of Ghetto in the game. I've found two spots recently while randomly touring the world. One is a backwater, shack and hillbilly type ghetto. The other was a "seedy" side of town where they sell skins and armor and have a trolley running down the center.
