Can anyone point me to the best male skin texture for an SL avatar?

(If this topic's been covered before, please let me know the url, and I'll look it up.)

You are the best person to determine that for yourself. Skins are highly personal things. Look around, demo, and you shall find what suits your needs. I'm sure you will get a lot of opinions and suggestions on where to go, but trust your own judgement.

Obviously I'm biased

so my opinion is not too usefull

If you were looking for female skins I would point you to Willow Zander, the Imalda Marcos of female skins

Are there any male equivalents out there?

You may want to do a search for 'male skins' I only know where to get the female skins.

CherryBomb Hare has some nice skins. She's the only one I've seen who gets the nipples in the right place. Logan Bauer also does nice work and has a great tintable skin, though I stopped wearing my skin by him cause I didn't like the seams on the back of the arms.

And of course Eddie Escher's new shiny android skins are good if you're looking for a more mechanized appearance!

I have four different male skins. My favorite one of all is a skin by Nora. It comes in lightly hairy and smooth plus it has 5 different skintones to choose from. I wear the hairy one all the time and get lots of compliments. Good luck shopping!

Best of all: Ryntha Suavage, one of the few male skins that have face done and choice of different facial hair.
She's a real artist !

Depending on what you are looking for and how much you are willing to spend... I would recommend Munchflower Zaius, Nephilaine Protagonist and Chip Midnight to name a few. There are alot of other skin makers out there, although I am not sure because I only have their female skins.

..and to be more precise on where you can find them.
Munchflower has all of her skins in her En Nomine store in Osterhout
Neph's you can find at Pixel Dolls in Chartreuse
Chip's you can find in his store in Freelon, I think? (I'm at work so I can't check on that for sure)

If you're looking for highly realistic and have the 5K for it, I highly recommend chip midnight's skins
