Ok I've been seeing this a lot in the forums but can't seem to find a definitive answer.
Is there a texture that when applied to a prim will make the prim transparent and hide all objects and AVs inside the prim?
Or is there a technique for doing this?
If so to either of the questions; Could someone post a clear explanation of how to go about it or point me to a site/article that explains it?
Thank a bunch All comments greatly appreciated

Search the forums for "invisiprim". You'll find everything you need to know.

ok that just gives me more of the stuff that I've already read.
I did find an invisiprim but all it does is go transparent. Doesn't hide the objects inside it.

Invisiprims don't hide objects, just avatars. There's no need to hide objects, since you can simply turn them invisible any time you want by applying a transparent texture. The avatar itself cannot be transparent, which is why invisiprims exist. (Okay, technically the reason they exist is because of a bug, but the bug was useful enough that it reamained deliberately unfixed and became a feature.)

RT The invisiprims are basically normal prims with a special texture applied. The texture is available to everyone (its stored in the asset database) but must be called out using its UUID via a script. Usually, only a simple script is needed to call the texture and apply it onto the prim. After which, you can delete the script, which I usually do. You can also retexture some of the surfaces, leaving only a few facets having the invisiprim texture. Invisiprims can also be set to shiny, and it will give a sort of shiny transparent glass look, especially on curved surfaces. Do not however, turn the invisiprim to any transparent setting, as it will cause it to not work. This texture usually causes things which are either transparent themselves, or contain alpha textures to dissappear if occluded by it. Trees for example. So basically, you can set prims to 1 percent transparency, and it will dissappear behind it. Basic prims with the plywood texture will not dissappear.

Not much sleep lately. Yes, invisiprims will hide anything with any degree of transparency. The 1% thing is a good idea.
