... heh, not been my last few days. I suppose that's in part due to the fact that I dont do alot of 3d graphics, i work exclusively on 2d stuff generally. *sigh* But anyways...
Another problem, I'm getting... a ghost? around the edge of my image, only on the top, it should be transparent, but its not.
The image of what's occuring after hte graphic is uploaded is shown in the attached ss. I'm getting a line of the same color as graphic color at the dead top... i've deleted the top couple pixels, i've dematted (jic), etc... any suggestions?
Edit: Added SS2.jpg with a view that shows some ui stuff and the actual shapes.

Apply a 100% transparent texture to the entire prim, then select the side you want your photoshopped texture to go on and apply it just to that side. I believe what you're seeing is the same image all squished up on the edge of the prim. Does that make sense? *I* know what I mean, I just have a hard time describing it

The base texture on that cube (yah rest is transparent) is a 16x16 transparent texture. I then applied the graphic to the two sides for a good pic of what is happening.

(which is not unusual) Good luck hehe I added a second image so you could double check that i'm not doing something completely different than what you're suggesting, the base text on the box is transparent, the glow is dropped on a single side, the only side that gets the funny line at the top is the side with the alternate texture on it... which ive tried erasing the top of dematting, etc... hrmph.

i think that thin lil line is the start of a repeat. it's the sliver of the opposite edge showing through. if you set the texture repeats to like 0.998 it should go away. i had that problem sometimes when i've used glowy blurred alpha textures.

Woot! Good call man, that never even crossed my mind, but that did it! Thanks!

I only very recently learned that when you make a cut out in Photoshop that it tries to make your pasting easier by adding a narrow "matte" around the selection. So even if your alpha mask is perfect, you will still find a 1 or 2 pixel bleed area around the selection. This is supposed to help make image composition smoother in pshop but is the opposite of helpful for SL.
Once you have your selection cut out, look for the Layer->Matte commands (and read the help) no more white fringes in SL.
