I've found a site that apparently takes sim maps and converts them into UUIDs for use with scripts.
Here's an example, my sim.
http://www.subnova.com/secondlife/api/map.php?sim=Bunda
Does anyone know of any other web sites or services that do this?

Well, this is probably not what you want but Terrain Sculptor gets the map image and converts it to a sculpty, and you get both images.

In other words, what is it you need that isn't provided there? Well, this is probably not what you want but Terrain Sculptor gets the map image and converts it to a sculpty, and you get both images. That's pretty neat, I'll have to check out Terrain Sculptor. But you're right; I don't see how that helps the OP. |

Interesting.
You're talking about two somewhat different things, however. The OP's link gives you a nice, clean map of the sim, showing the detail you get on the Map in-world, with terrain and objects showing. But as I understand it, Terrain Sculptor dows two things at once: It gets the same sort of image the OP was mantioning, but it also creates a sculpt map that can be applied to a prim to make that map 3D, in-world. There's also products on XStreet-SL that will give you the greyscale .raw file height map for any sim, which you need if you want to terraform a similar sim, or to make a backup of terraforming when you are not the sim owner. _____________________
Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.

I have an API which does this on my site http://api.gridsurvey.com/simquery.php?region=Bunda&item=objects_uuid will return the current Object Layer Map UUID for your sim , You can also return the Terrain Layer Map UUID as well (http://api.gridsurvey.com/simquery.php?region=Bunda&item=terrain_uuid ) The API links to my Region database which is normally updated daily, It's 100% coverage of the Main Grid . There is also a similar API for querying most of the SL Metrics which I store Details of both APIs can be found here http://www.gridsurvey.com/api.php |

And, the reason I wanted to try a different server is because subnova is out of date. _____________________

Awesome, that's perfect. And, the reason I wanted to try a different server is because subnova is out of date. subnova is not that out of date - a little over a week at the time of this post. The map uuid subnova is reporting for your region is the one from the 28th Jan . I keep a history of all UUID's for each region going back to March 2008, these are all still in the Asset Server so with a little bit of LSL you can look in-world at how a region has changed over time . To see the historical UUID's for Bunda got to http://www.gridsurvey.com/display.php?region=bunda - Then click on the button at the bottom of the page "Display Map UUID history for the Region". This feature isn't currently available as a API. |

Tha subnova site is doing fine. I use it as the source for dynamic sim maps that I have as "You Are Here" posters in several places on our sims. I have scripted my maps to update weekly because we can often swap out large exhibits in that time frame at some times of the year. Right now, they're showing changes that were made at the end of January with no trouble at all.
