Is anyone in here using smart objects with PSD to do pants pockets, loop belts and small details?

I was thinking on doing that since vectors seems way easier to deal with and more flexible to handle.

Ooofff ... I wish I had CS2 just do be able to play with that type of thing. But I don't :(

You may want to look at this thread. There is a little discussion there about smart objects and SL clothing construction. There may be a few more threads too. Search for "smart object." Good luck :)

Smart objects allow you to non-destructively scale, rotate, or warp multiple layers in CS2. You could create smart objects for collars, neckline trims, pipings, and other clothing elements where fabric twists and turns (or changes scale!) and simply drop your fabric in them. The fabric will instantly scale, rotate, and warp to fit the smart object. Best part is, if you're not satisfied with the results, simply delete the old fabric and drop a new one into the smart object. No additional effort needed. Sounds like it would be great for experimentation. Robin Sojourner has a good tutorial on smart objects in the link that I provided above, Neko. Have a look at it :)
