I'm having a texturing problem. I uploaded some stuff for outfits last night, but when I tried the jacket layer, the bottom portion was repeating from the top instead of where it left off (near bottom) of the template. What did I do wrong. My neckline is now also my hipline. Not quite the effect I was going for. Am I doomed to living my SL in crop tops? lol Any advice or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

This is a bug that's been around for a few versions that renders the same texture to both parts of the jacket object.

Try throttling down your video settings in Edit/Preferences. Also try clearing your cache, or even uninstalling/reinstalling (not just reinstalling over) the entire Second Life client.

Rereading your post:

You are using two separate textures to create the jacket item, right? One following the upper-body template and the other following the lower-body template?

Sounds like you used the same texture for both the upper and lower body portions of the jacket. Jackets use two different textures. If that's not the problem and you have the correct textures in there, it might be scrambled in the cache. You can check to see if that;s the case by looking at the thumbnail images in appearance mode. If they look correct in appearance but incorrect on your avatar then you have some faulty baked textures in the cache. Enable the debug menus (ctrl-shift-D) then go to the Client menu, to character (I think, don't have SL open in front of me), then at the very bottom of that menu, select "rebake avatar textures."

I thought that might be the case (top, bottom thingy). I'll play around some more this weekend. Thanks so much for the reponses. Hopefully I'll get it ironed out. Special thanks to you too Chip...using your templates! :P I'm determined to figure this out.
