I searched through the boards but couldn't find anything relating to this topic. Please excuse me if there is already and thread out there.
I created my first shirt today and it looks great out of game, but in game it's blurry and much of the detail is lost. The texture I have is 1024 x 1024, so it shouldn't be getting resized. Does anyone know what is going on and how to fix it?
If you need any more information please let me know.

It may be because the size is just so big. Usually a bigger file (IE 1024x1024) takes a very long time to rez, which is why you may be seeing it as 'fuzzy' and 'blurry' Also, a file that big will never load for some people. The thing that i learned that works well, is create your article of clothing big (1024x1024 or 2048x204 But before you upload it to game, change the size to 512x512. It will load faster for others, and it will take half the time to render as well. There is a post about the sizes of files and how much resources each file takes to render. I will try to locate it for you and post it here. Hope this helps Okay i found the thread : /109/38/211510/1.htmlIts Chosens advice, the number 6 reply. Hope the additional info helps as well

It has been a long time since I made clothes, but I am almost positive that there is one and only one clothing size and that is 512x512. Chip's templates (are there any others?) are distributed at 1024x1024 because it makes it easier to work with.
However either you have to downsample to 512x512 before uploading or SL will do it for you and not nearly as well. In almost all cases, a simple bicubic downsampling in your image editor will do a better job than SL will.
I expect the real texturistas here will be quick to point out if I am mistaken.

your right, it auto resizes down to a 512x512 for clothing files. SL designing is like riding a bike.. you will start, may give up for a while, but youll always remember basics

Thank you all. I tried resizing in PS, but my details come out blurry. Some things will size down ok, but others wont. Guess I'll just have to redo the details. Thanks again
