There's no simple way, as far as I know, you can't get rid of the base skin texture, only cover it up.

There is some texture you can put on a prim and hide your avatar in if you feel like building your own from scratch though.

By "semi-transparent skin" do you mean skin that allows the base texture to show through? So you can have, for instance, lips that have opaque lipstick on them, but still vary the skin tone using the sliders?

If so, it's fairly simple to make. Just make the Alpha channel gray where you want semi-transparency, white where you want it to be opaque, and black where you want total transparency. The lighter the gray, the less transparent, and the darker, the more transparent.

Then just save as a 32 bit .tga file, upload it, and put it in the Tattoo thumbnails for your skin.

(Don't forget to Create a skin in Inventory first, using the Right Mouse Button on a folder and choosing "New Body Parts > New Skin," so you are listed as the Creator.)

If you don't know how to do these things, let me know. It's just like any other Alpha Channel work, though.

What I want is not being the invisible man but the "alpha 80" man.
Is this possible with a skin texture, or not ?
I don't want to use prims.
