I have all the goodies for a flaming candle, and the candle itself, from a reputable source; however, I tried to deconstruct it in order to create a larger flame ... like for the classic epic films with huge flaming cauldrons. The problem:

I may have lost some vital elements (like a flickering flame script) and now there's a flickering illumination of some kind that lights up the side of my house. I was able to retrieve the prims used to make the flame (using "Highlight Transparent";) but can't find the source of the flickering. I was working on a prim rather than in a sandbox. Help!

Scripts live on even if they are removed from a prim. You may need to run Stopit! in a prim. I'll help when I get inworld, but right now am working to support my SL habit.
