Help needed with skin design

Hi, hopefully someone can help me with my issue. I used the templates for making a skin and now that I am a little more experienced I would really like to make real good skins, with a new skin texture (real skin so to speak). Point is however that I see the edges between upper and lower and upper and face. How can I fix that? I save the templates as png.

When making a skin, just fill the whole back later with the basic tone you start off from, that will make sure it will close any seems you accidentally run into when creating the skin in world :), and about the actuall detail i really have no idea so sorry =^.^=
