After spending a small fortune in uploads, I have a shoe template that I'm mostly happy with. The heel doesn't bleed TOO badly, the sides aren't all jagged, and the sole lines up as good as I can get it.

Since making shoes is truly a horriffic experience for some, I thought I'd share what I've come up with.

The magenta line is where the sides and heel should stop on an ordinary type of shoe, and the teal portion is the sole of the shoe.

I don't know if this will help anyone or not, but... here you go :)

I zipped up a .psd and .jpg.

Excellent! :) Thanks Hosequeen. Looks very helpful. Thanks for sharing it.

Just a note: windows users will need to add a .zip extension to the file name to open it.

OMG.....thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!! I gave up on making shoes long ago, now I'm gonna try again!

And might as well ask this too, do you mind if you put this on my website that is coming up soon? Lots of help on making clothing in SL. Full credit to you of course! :)

You're welcome! If anybody finds this useful and makes shoes using it, I'd love to see them.

And of course you can put it on your website.

One other thing I thought I'd mention - When making shoes, the sliders in appearance mode play a HUGE role in whether or not the shoe is going to look good or not (unlike other clothing, where the sliders are important but the actual design is the most important part).

I would like to add my thank's for supplying the shoe template. I posted a request for helping with shoes a few months back. This seems to be the answer.

That statement has me curious. Why is it different from normal clothing where the alpha channel cutouts determine the shape of the garment and overide the sliders.

I didn't mean to imply that the alpha channel and actual design of the shoe is unimportant - it certainly IS important. It's just that the sliders make all the difference in the world in how your final product is going to look. Play around with them, you'll see what I mean.

Zana,

I have quite honestly spent hundreds in uploads trying to fix the heel bleeding issue, and the template I provided is the best I can get. I'm sure it's possible, but I just cannot get it perfect. I've looked at a lot of shoes out there, and I have yet to see a perfect pair where some portion of it doesn't bleed.

If anyone else can help, I'd sure appreciate it!

Hose,

Thanks for the info :). I figured it was pretty hard if you hadn't figured it out yet! :). Still, the template really IS a godsend. Bless your little heart!!
