use a clear texture on the sides of the prims to eliminate seams.

And since one annoying little detail was left out which would ruin the whole thing if you didn't know this point, make the prim being used for water phantom by checking the phantom box on the options tab of the edit window. This allows your avatar to move through the water freely.
