I am looking to just display words I was looking for a texture that I could type on and change on a daily basis. If this is not possible then how would I go about creating textures from other PC programs

There are probably ways to use preset letters within the game but one would think if you had lot to say it would require lot of prims.
I am not as skilled as some of the texture artist in SL but in spite of being intimidated by it I have discovered creating signs is very easily done I have discovered regardless of art program.
The uploads are only 10L and you can design different ones for whatever purpose you have.
Of things are very different and options slightly different depending on art program you're using.
There are many types of font choices too but some are easier to be seen and read then others in game.
It basically typing whatever you want on whatever colored or textured background.
Most art progams like corell or adobe I assume have features to create backgrounds.
The letters are just another layer.
I discovered dimple spheres turned in flat boxes work best with signs with help of a friend.

To see what it takes for a dynamic text display in SL, go to the Ahern welcome center and right-click the lit text sign near the common area. It is made up of many prims, one for each letter. There is a script involved to change the display.

To see one that is updated regularly, go to Club Industry. Find one of the currently playing song displays and watch it update.

There is probably one for sale some place, but the bottom line is that is uses a lot of prims.

As FD said, your best bet may be to create the signs in a paint program and upload them for L$10 each day.

i think you want a message board its not a texture its a scripted program

here is one that everyone raves about its pretty new and there are two versions you can probably get it in game as well just look up the creator and search for his profile
