In there, click on the texture tab. In the upper left you'll see a radial that says, 'select texture' or something similar...click that radial on. Now you can texture a single face at a time. _____________________

I must recommend spending a lot of time in the ivory tower. And keep the notecards!

Now you can texture a single face at a time. Adding: this actually starts in the main edit window .. click select texture. Then you can click on the sides of the prim you want to texture. Hint: if you want to select more than one side, hold down the shift key and click all sides you want to cover with the same texture. Have fun ![]() Edited because Chosen knows more about this than I do ![]() |

Adding: this actually starts in the main edit window .. and you also have to select edit linked parts, even if it's a single prim. So, right click your prim to open edit window, at the left-hand top select edit linked parts, then click select texture. Uh, what? It's never been necessary to have Edit Linked Parts turned on to use Select Texture. Just turn on Select Texture, and you can click on individual faces of prims. Whether you have Edit Linked Parts turned on or off makes no difference whatsoever, and it doesn't matter in any way whether or not the prims happen to be linked. Select Texture works the same way no matter what. If you're interested in the history, Select Texture predates Edit Linked Parts in SL by at least a full year. It was quite a while before Edit Linked Parts was added to the system, but we had Select Texture from the beginning. When Edit Linked Parts arrived, it didn't change Select Texture in any way. _____________________

Oh right, hohum, thanks for correcting that one
![]() Will edit original post. Except that way doesn't always work for me. Only clicking select texture doesn't always allow me to select single sides of a prim. Whereas if I click edit linked parts as well it always works. Weird. _____________________

Or just drag a texture from your inventory to the side you want.

That is weird, Sally. I've never seen or heard of behavior like that before. Have you bug-reported it?

Of all the bugs I've seen, and quirks, this one is a new one. I've never had this happen. _____________________

Hahahaha I thought it was a feature ![]() Next time it happens I will though, thanks for reminding me. I can't say I ever really discussed it with anyone so I didn't actually know it was a bug, I just figured it was one of those SL things, sometimes it works someties it doesn't. _____________________
