Not possible, I am afraid. Not for you to wear at the same time. The SL avatar and SL Clothing template only has one arm. The texturing for the left arm and glove is mirrored from the right side as defined on the texture. There is no way to make a skin or clothing item that only places a pattern on one arm or one glove, without it appearing mirror-reversed on the other.

And you can't make a convincing glove from prims, to cover only one hand.

Can't you just make two gloves and then in world wear one of them on the right hand and the other on the left?

I know it can't be done in one outfit but just make two outfits.

Just a thought.

Afraid not, Ploy. There's no way to wear just one glove. We only have one arm, for texturing purposes. Anything you put on one arm is automatically mirrored onto the other.

It works the same way for our feet. :D

The only way to have a pattern on one glove and not on the other is to use prims.

yeah Linden labs has designed avatars so that their shoes, socks and gloves match so if you want to do something like that you have to use prims :)

The template only has one arm and one foot because its symmetrical so it uses the pattern from that to make both feet and arms and hands hence its an all or nothing deal

Make plain gloves, and make a prim for the pattern. Wear prim on back of hand.

And besides, SL really does NOT need a Michael Jackson avatar.

:p

So THAT'S why I never seem to be wearing one blue and one black sock in SL! (unlike RL :D )

Another area where this is bad is that it is impossible to put a tattoo on the right arm or shoulder or hand that does not also appear, mirror-reversed, on the left arm! So you can make a heart that says "MOM", with a symmetrical design, and it will look OK on both arms. But a heart that says "Ceera" on one arm will say "areeC" on the other, with the letters all backwards.

Guess no one in SL will wear my name in a heart on their arm!

Same goes for making clothing with aysymmetrical sleves. You can't put writing on the sleve of a shirt or jacket, like a lot of race jaclets, because one sleeve will display that writing backwards. You can't design a dress or blouse that has one bare arm and one bare shoulder, and the other arm and shoulder covered...
