I have recently started making some prim hair in game. Before the update, yesterday, I could just slap a texture onto a prim and it would cover the whole thing. Now, I put one on and it only gets the outside of it, basically. Also, when I try to apply the same texture to multiple prims, some of them change and some of them do not....

What is the deal? Is it a bug or do I have to work that much harder to individually texture each prim and part. If it is the ladder, that really sux!

Anyway, pls if anyone can help with this, I would appreciate it!

Thanks!

I haven't seen the first problem you describe, but the second one has existed for a long time. Select a lot of objects, attempt to apply a texture to the whole group at once, and some of them fail to update. Or worse, they appear to update temporarily, but then revert back to their previous texturing. It's really annoying.

I'm sorry to say I've never found a viable work-around besides just selecting less stuff at once. Sometimes that means one prim at a time, unfortunately.

Actually a work around for the second problem ( as far as I've found) would be to employ a script which specifically calls a link set function in the root prim to set your desired texture on all prims. the same can be said for colors on multiple selected prim due to latency.

Hi Lilly,

Haven't run into the first issue you describe, the second is a bugger...but you can get around it with some patience.

When you select a lot of prims at once and the texture window is open in your inventory watch the texture window in the edit menu before you click "Select"...it will say "Multiple" over the texture you are choosing in the edit menu. Wait a few seconds and click the texture you want again...you may have to do this a few times until the "multiple" disappears.

I hope that helps.

It sure beats having to select all of the prims again.

Best,

The trouble with that is there is no llSetLinkTexture call yet, it means a script in every prim.

I do what Ari does-- you just keep selecting it until 'multiple' goes away. I wish they would fix that--it used to work fine without a hitch, but that was months and months ago.

Now i'm starting to see clothing articles do a similar thing where the texture doesn't 'stick'. Maybe it's me or I'm doing something wrong, but I made five colors of glitchpants yesterday, using 'Save As...' for each color and when i went to put them on later, all i got was the plain white default pants--i had to reselect the textures and save them all over.

I don't believe it is you. I had two tops do the same thing yesterday.
