I've been encountering quite a few people who didn't have PS or PSP on their computers so I thought I'd give them the link to an alternative paint program. It doesnt seem to get the group adoration of the other two, but it has one advantage: IT'S FREE!!!
The program is called "The GIMP" or just "GIMP". It is an Open-Source program, like Linux (which it originally hails from). There are versions for Mac, PC and Linux/Unix.
Here's the link:

<3 GIMP. Been using it for a year or so now. Works quite well with Wacom pads, too!

I keep hearing people say "I want to make stuff but I dont have the money for PS/PSP!!" So I thought it'd be nice to post some alternatives that are free or affordable to the average person.

Artrage2 is due out! Artrage 1 was free and Artrage 2 seems it will have a light version. This is for mac and pc http://www.ambientdesign.com/artrage.htmlAs of 1.0 it does't support image "editing" only start with a pixel size then paint. But mixed with GIMP could be a great way to bring very artistic things into SL.

Another free one is PD Pro, or Project Dogwaffle. Version 1.2 is free. Haven't used it much, but the program seems pretty good! Lis

And for those who are somewhat familiar with Photoshop but want a $0 version for home or whatever try: GIMPShop a mod of The GIMP which makes the menus much more like Photoshop's interface. L8r, UU

I've used warping in the past to adjust (photosource) clothes. While both Photoshop and PaintShop Pro have warpers now, I find grid warping hard to use - prefer spline and point warping. Just stumbled over a free point warping/morphing program who seems very fun, good and easy to use - Sqirlz Morph. Could sure be an alternative to expensive 3d paint programs Have fun! Lis

Pixia is another free graphics program, but I last used it years ago -it's good but I don't remember if it supports targas.
