I have a really cool idea for a set of eyes, but have no idea in the world on how to make them. Do I use the head template and color what I want in the eyes area, or just make it from scratch, upload, and drag to the box for the eye in apperance? And how do I make it so it shows up as eyes in my inventory, rather than a texture?

Echo! There is an eye template  simply use that as your guide line I normally draw a circle on a new layer and start designing from there From there, you upload the texture, go into appearence, click on eyes and drag the texture you want into the texture box provided and then click save as, save them as what you want and voila! eyes in your inventory not textures Hope this is clear enough! If not gimme a holler in world Willz

a standard eye texture is 256x256 and remember that for some reason it gets rotated 90 degrees clockwise so make sure your original is rotated 90 degress counter clockwise. also be sure you set your eye color to the lightest in SL or it will tint the texture (the default SL eye texture is actually grey) unless you want that.

I've made the mistake of using an alpha transparency on the whites of the eyes- something I didn't care for. It causes the white to pick up color from the slider settings. Depending on the effect you want, this may or may not be a good thing. There's your heads-up. |
