I currently have PS elements and im trying to create stretches on my clothing , for between the breasts and under the arms. I have tried painting with the brush tool where i would like the stretch marks to show and use one of the default filter effects for it with not much success.I also tried creating a new adjustment layer then marking my stretch marks on that layer and fiddling with the obvious effect throught the filter menu without the desired effect.I guess my question is could i create a brush stroke for this effect and save it for all my clothing and be able to use it over and over,or am i going to have to paint them on each indiviual clothing top or outfit?any help would be greatly appreciated and remember im still a novice to 3d art. I start to slightly get the effects im looking for with the Impressionist brushafter adjusting the opacity and switching the mode a bit ,mostly it seems to just smugde or distort the areas i want to "look" stretched.

Yes, you could create a brush for that purpose, but it's going to look fake a lot of the time. Folds and wrinkles don't all look the same. They vary depending on size, type of fabric, and tightness of the fold, among other things. Try wearing several pieces of clothing and studying yourself in a mirror. The shadows don't look the same at all. Really, the only way to create good, convincing folds and wrinkles is to paint them one at a time. Here are two resources to look at. The first is the sticky thread on Photoshop Tricks & Tips at the top of this forum ( ). The first few posts in that sticky deal directly with creating folds. The other thread to look at is a recent one ( ) that offers a different set of advice and a good philosophical perspective.
