Permissions bug on skins - listed as No Transfer

Hi Folks,

I've taken every attachment and HUD off. Every bit of clothing. I wear a self-made full permissions shape & eyes & bald. And yet, when I put on and save skin files I have made myself and uploaded from my computer, (planning to box them for sale) the skin shows up in inventory as No Transfer.

I've quit SL while "clean," cleared cache, rebooted my computer, and relogged. Still, it says the skin I made is No Transfer. Has anyone run into this? I don't know what to try next and I can't find it in the Knowledge Base or here in the Forums.

Thanks for any thoughts,
cv

just out of curiousity, did you check the permissions on the textures you added to the skin?

Yep, they're full perm; they didn't get switched to no transfer somehow mysteriously after I uploaded them, unless they're secretly 'no transfer' and don't say that anywhere in the Permissions box. (Certainly worth checking, but not the issue in this case.)

Make sure you are adding your skin textures to a skin you have made yourself (right click on My Inventory and then new body parts, new skin.)

Yes, indeed. That is what I have done.

have you tried using an alt to see if it still does the same thing?

have you tried making a new skin and doing it fresh (not using the old (new) skin you made)

It finally did the right thing, no idea why.

Yesterday I tried with several full perm textures (and base skin), to make a new skin, and they all ended up no transfer.

Today, I tried it again before trying Rhaorth's good suggestion of using an alt, and it worked. Finally. I have no idea why; I didn't do anything differently than the previous days.

more asset server maddness I'd guess... I asked about the texture permissions because awhile back people were sometimes getting no transfer on just upload images.
