How do you attach prims to the avatar the way you want them to be?

Whenever I attach the prim I am working on to my av. It is always in the wrong direction, position, etc. How do I attach it to my av the way that I want it to?

After you attach it, right click on it, edit, then move and rotate to fit.

depends where you attach it. some are "fixed" and other float around. fixed ones i know are hands, arms, feet, everything on your head, chest, spine, pelvis, stomach, few others. floaters are pecs, hips, etc.

Zuzi,

Good to see you on the forums. Actually I am trying to attach it to feet. When the av moves the prims jumps back or to the sides then locks into place. I get the strangest feeling that I am not getting something simple here. Thanks for the help.

That sounds more like lag kicking your changes backwards. I've made paws myself and they stay where I put them. It helps a lot to have a posing pedestal for that.

Tikki,

Is there anyway I can see your posing pedestal? I don't have a clue as far as that goes.

If you're on later tonight (11:30 Eastern time) I can send you a copy. Or if anyone else has one kicking around, mabey they can send it. It's a freebie as far as I know. :) There's an advanced one on sale somewhere too (multiple poses), but I have no idea where.

edit: I have mine out in my building room too. The sim is a bit laggy though, so build at own risk there. I can IM you the details on how to get to it if you want.

Rickard Roentgen sells an advance one that has multiple poses and a way to load in your own poses. :) You can find them at Fire Island (just do a quick search), it is in Sami, he has a vendor up there. hehe while you are there, check out his awesome lighthouse :)

Really?? I step out of my house, look south and I see that lighthouse. I rated him on it to at one point. Great build. :D

I had no idea I lived so close to getting an advanced one. ;)

LOL, just brings home the point that SL is getting so big you start to not even know what is in your back yard. Well unless you are a hermit :D

I love Rickard's pedestal. Before he set up his lighthouse I was scouring the sims trying to find one... then as luck would have it I flew right past him as I was heading back to Dusun. I just wish I could rate him some more! Fire Island is gorgeous.
