Problem when removing texture's color:(

I recently made this texture.
A friend wanted it in another color so I thought hey why not just remove all the color
in Adobe, lighten it in mode bit.
Issue is now I can't seem to get the file to be 24 bit tga and I am not sure what to do.
Anyone have any suggestions how to remove color from texture and still have it be
24 bit tga file?

I take it what you did was you changed the mode from RGB to grayscale. If so, just change it back. Grayscale is 16-bit. RGB is 24.

To remove all color from an image without changing modes, click Image -> Adjustments -> Desaturate. To remove just a specific color, go Select -> Color Range, then click on the canvas to sample the color you want to affect (shift-click to add more), click OK, and then go Image -> Desaturate.


(On a side note, it's best not to say "in Adobe" when you're talking about your software. Adobe makes about 70 different programs. If I didn't already know you were talking about Photoshop, I could have given you all kinds of wrong answers. Say "in Photoshop" instead of "in Adobe" to eliminate the possibility of confusion. If you were talking about MS Word, you wouldn't say "in Microsoft", right? You'd say "in Word". Well same thing here. Adobe is just the brand. Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, etc. are the specific names of the programs.)

Thanks I thought I should just used the slider in mode but no I thought had to use option that turns it gray and removes color.
I went through this before but I forgot how to fix it when I went to RGB something went awry.
Perhaps it was because something else I did wrong.
Anyway I am very forgetful and very out of it today, some days are worse then others for me
