I have fabrics i want to import to my patterns in gimp, if anyone knows how to do this i would appreciate the info, thank you!

this really belongs in the textures section, they'd be able to help you more. If you're converting stuff you made in Photoshop, just save it as a psd. Gimp 2.2 reconizes that format.
