Question on jacket layer

I'm making a top at the moment for my avatar in Photoshop, using the basic upperbody template provided by SL. I use DAZ studio to preview the top, and it really bugs me that the top is so short.

I've read about a jacket layer at several places and I was wondering where I can find it. There's one in the basic upperbody template, but it's just as long as every other part and I really want the top to cover the belly.

Thank you,

Hi there -

There isn't an actual jacket template.

You can either use the lower body if you want the jacket part to stick to the body. Note: If it's for a suit jacket, just remember that the middle part of the jacket (crotch area) is empty, meaning if you wanted a jacket that looked more like a tunic, you'd have to use the skirt layer/template so you have something covering the crotch area.

Or you can use the skirt template if you want something more poofed out at the bottom. Note: use as a skirt, and use an alpha texture for the bottom part of the jacket layer so it doesn't stay white, or just crop it to the very bottom of the upper part of the jacket. Another note on skirt layer..start the waist of your skirt at the very top, otherwise it won't meet with the shirt.

Hope this helped a bit.

Have a great day! :)

Thank you Elle! :) It makes much more sense to me now. I'm going to try it out today.
