Hi Sand. If you need beginner level instruction in Photoshop itself, I'd highly recommend you take a break from texturing for now, and learn the basics of the program first. Learning to texture for 3D, and learning a 2D image editing program for the first time are two different subjects. You don't want to put the cart before the horse. You need to learn the foundations of Photoshop before you move on to something as complicated as texturing.

Before seeking private tutoring, which could get expensive, I'd suggest you invest in a good book on Photoshop, and take a few weeks to work your way through it. There are dozens out there to choose from. I don't have a specific recommendation for any particular title.

For more intermediate level instruction, a fantastic book is 3D Game Textures, by Luke Ahern. It's not a book you should start with if you don't already know Photoshop at at least a basic level, but after you've got a handle on the basics, that book will springboard you toward focusing on texturing very well.

Another option is to take a class on Photoshop at your local community college or corporate training center. It's taught practically on every street corner these days.

And of course, you can always come here with SL-specific questions.

That said, if you really want private tutoring, I've been debating the idea of offering that for a while now. People do ask me for it all the time. My hesitation is twofold. First, I'm not sure the best use of my time is to just help one person at a time. I'd rather offer public instruction, so lots of people can benefit at once. Second, I'd likely have to charge a lot more than most individuals in SL would want to pay, since any hour I spend tutoring is an hour I can't spend doing my regular work. The same rates would have to apply to both.

In any case, if I do decide to do it, I'm not comfortable using this forum as a vehicle to promote it. That's not what this forum is here for. I only mention it here because you happen to have asked during a time when it's on my mind. If I decide to do it, I'll make the public aware through more legitimate channels.
