I just got a copy of Photoshop CS4, but I'm having some issues zooming in to the OBJ file to detail work.

1. The mesh is blue and when I color over it on the diffuse layer, the blue is still showing through

2. When I try to zoom in, it doesn't show all of the detail like I have in the textures.

Is there some way to update the mesh or re-render it when I zoom in?

What do you mean, exactly? Screenshot?

What method are you using to zoom? I'm guessing you're using the navigator, as you would for 2D images. Don't do that. If you do, you'll be zooming in on the actual pixels of the rendered image, not on the 3D model itself. Instead, use the camera control tool in the toolbox.

2. Thanks. That was the problem.

1. The mesh starts out a greyish color and shows through the diffuse texture layer making a white diffuse texture looking grey. ((I thought it was blue, but it was grey))

Is this a lighting issue? How do you light it in a way that everything is lit, no shadows.

The option you're looking for is in the 3D Render Settings dialog (3D -> Render Settings). In the first section at the top of the window, where it says Face Style, choose Unlit Texture. This is equivalent to using Full Bright in SL. It kills all in-scene lighting effects.
