Hi All,
quick question. When I look around at what other folks have done with skins, it's clear many times they make one texture or "look" and then tint that skin many colors. How do folks do this? is it with the color adjusting tools? I use GIMP so are we talking Hue and Saturation here or is there some other mysterious way this is handled.
Thanks for any suggestions. Anik

I don't use GIMP, so someone will have to translate this from Photoshop terms: The short answer is Hue/Sat adjustment layers, or a Color Balance adjustment layer. It can be done many ways with varying results. The long answer is multiple complex layers that take into account isolated areas of shadow and highlight. Shadow areas will be less saturated than midtones and highlights. Palms, lips, genitals, and the bottoms of feet have different types of pigmentation than the rest of the body, so often times these are isolated on separate layers for more complex pigment variations. Alpha channels and the tintability of the skin on the SL sliders often factors into this for many skins as well. There is no ONE way to do this. Experiment to see what works best for you.

No translation needed, Namssor. The terms are the same for both the GIMP and Photoshop.
