yes, PSP is quite useful. Photoshop and Gimp are also used. There is a great tutorial for PS, but not one for PSP.

The thing most people find confusing about clothing is alpha channeling (lotsa posts over and over) to get transparency.

In PSP there are two easy ways to do an alpha channel. Have your clothing on a transparent background, then do
1. add new mask layer (source opacity)
2. save mask layer to alpha channel
3. save file as 24 bit TGA (there is no 32bit option in PSP 9)

you can also "select" the area you want to make transparent and "save selection" to alpha channel.

Also useful, download the templates from the SL site, and take a look at Arito's thread on Tattoo, which enables you to check out your upper and lower body textures without spending L$ to bring em online.

Pant Shop Pro works, but only for making pants. You have to use another program for the rest of the clothing items. ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist such an ironic typo. :D

i currently use psp to create clothes, and mostly are all shirts, though i never tried to create pants yet, shirts can be made using paint shop pro,
basically the template for creating shirts is available from the SL website, and is very useful

If you would like to see what i have created stop by Club WildThing in Yawgoo (185,170) and i'll be glad to show you

you're not going to get very far making clothes if you're lazy. it takes a lifetime of hard work and determination and self sacrifice. many are called and few are chosen. only the strong survive! two go in and only one comes out!

ok, it's not that bad but there's a search button near the top of the forum that will help in the future so you don't have to scroll through topics. have fun. :D
