Can anyone help. i am very VERY new to SL and after fumbling about the world for a couple of day some very nice ppl came to my resucue and gave me some tips and stuf. After buying a set of nipple rings i found that the position of one of them was somewhere in the middle of my chest when worn and try as i may i couldn't widen the distance between the two objects. All i succeded in doing was seperating all the individual bits of each ring all over the plac. The more i tried to put the bit back the worse it got **sigh**. Can someone tell me how to make the distance between each WHOLE nipple ring greater or smaller. i would REALLY appreciate some advice and help.

umm. I'm not sure what you bought and how it was put together.
Are they linked?

I'm not logged in, but I think the following is correct:
Try this:
1. wear the rings
2. EDIT the rings while you're wearing them.
3. in TOOLS menu, UNLINK them
4. Now CLICK on just one of them. only IT should now be 'live' with the editor. Move it as desired. Click on the other and move it to the right position.
5. hold down the control key and CLICK on the unselected ring. They are now both hilited. go to TOOLS menu and LINK them.
6. Close the EDIT window.

Rinse, repeat as necessary.

Th advice you gave was pretty much spot on. Thank you so much. Its a pity they don't make it a little easier tho. Unlinking the rings worked great but then the individual rings had multiple parts. A small key macro to select all the tiny items TINY items in and obkect together would be fantastic. Thank you again

What I do in such cases is to unlink, and then do a drag-select over one set of parts at a time, to re-link them into two sets of linked parts.

Beware that if the item is scripted, you may need to ensure that the initial root prim remains the root prim when you are done and have linked the parts back together. The last item selected becomes the root prim, when you re-link items.
